Superb Performances open the Finals with stunning routines from the GB Gymnasts!
After a wonderful Qualifying Event, we could not wait for Sunday’s Finals! After a great evening with South Tyneside on the Saturday night where we watched the Wakefield Acrobats 8 Storey on National TV on When Will I Be Famous, we cheered their performance, and were so dissapointed that they did not win. I chatted with the girls about their Club and the great performances, and also caught up with Spelthorne where we talked to Alex Uttley and Adam McAssey plus Coaches Neil Griffiths and Emily Collins about some of the exciting new partnerships.
Next morning we arrived bright and early and already the atmosphere was electric as the hall filled to capacity with gym fans from around the UK cheering for their favourites. We hope you enjoy these superb photos of the Finalists as International Gymnasts from all over the World battled with some of our top gymnasts for Gold Medals as Coaches continued to perfect routines ahead of next months British Championships!
Gold Medal winners included Maiken Thorne & Mollie Grehan from Spelthorne who produced a terrific performance in front of their home crowd in Bristol. We must also mention the wonderful routines from the Russians, Lithuanians and French gymnasts who included unique choreography and beautiful technique to make this a memorable day’s Finals.
