Page 5 - SPELTHORNE ARE BACK!
Gold Medal Glory for GB’s leading Acrobatics Club!
After a 300 mile round trip and a nightmare hold up on the motorway we arrived in Bristol looking forward to a great competition, and we were not dissapointed! Friends all greeted me with just 3 words, “Spelthorne are back! ” and after seeing their amazing Christmas Display, here at Gymnastics Online we knew that Spelthorne could not wait to get back to top level competition and perform their incredible routines with their biggest ever elite squad in the history of the Club! Ed and Reece and Liam & Jon were a joy to watch, and with new partnerships in Womens Groups, Mixed Pairs and Mens Pairs there were some outstanding performances from Britain’s top Acrobatics Club.
Page 5 of our great Photo Special opens with James Palmer and Georgia Sturt with James returning to competition 6 months after announcing his retirement, once more displaying great technique with a huge 28.8667 in their Balance and receiving a great reception from the packed crowd. Don’t miss the terrific action photos of the Russian & Lithuanian Mixed Pairs here too plus fantastic photos of some of your favourite GB Acrobats!
We also feature some of the new King Edmund partnerships who had terrific support from the home crowd and showed some excellent routines ahead of the British Championships. Their Mixed Pairs were particularly strong, with Kaman Mitchell and Tasha Lawrence only performing their Dynamic where they scored 28.500, and Doug Fordyce and new partner Hannah Palmer also competing balance only where they scored 27.900. King Edmund also claimed Gold in the 11-16 Mens Pairs with Barnaby Llwellyn and Danny Bates. Shelley Evans is now part of a new Junior Womens Group and we look forward to seeing more of the King Edmund routines at British where they will mount a strong challenge.
