INDIVIDUAL MEN AND WOMEN’S EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS PREVIEW
DEBRECEN, HUNGARY - 2-5 JUNE 2005
The 26th European Championships will be held in Debrecen next month featuring Men and Women’s Individual Apparatus Finals where the new Individual Apparatus and All Around European Champions will be crowned! We look forward to an exciting Championships in a new post Olympic era where former European and World Champion Svetlana Khorkina has retired, and new names will emerge on the European stage.
The confirmed Women’s line up so far already includes 3 Olympic Champions with Catalina Ponor who won Gold in Athens on Floor and Beam, Emilie Lepennec Olympic Champion on A Bars and Moinca Rosu Olympic Champion on vault! More gymnasts are still to be added including the Great Britain, Netherlands, Russian and Ukranian Teams. Will Beth become the new European A Bars Champion following her historic Silver Medal last year against the reigning Olympic Champion Emilie Lepennec from France ? And look out for Junior European Champion Rhian Pugh from Great Britain with her innovative routine.
Who will win on Floor where the reigning Olympic Champion Catalina Ponor will take on her Team Mate Daniela Sofronie who won Silver in Athens? The reigning European All Around Champion Alina Kozich will also be there to defend her title! I can’t wait for this competition!

The men’s line up so far already includes 2 Olympic Double Medallists! Marian Dragulescu from Romania who won Silver on Floor and Bronze on Vault in Athens, and Jordan Jovtchev from Bulgaria Olympic Silver medallist on Rings and Bronze on Floor!
