South Tyneside’s Louise and Hannah win Gold in Womens Pairs Finals plus bronze for Harefield’s new Womens Pair!
A fantastic performance from South Tyneside Acrobats Louise Lee and Hannah Johnstone saw the British girls collect well deserved Gold Medals at the Flanders International Acro Cup in the 11-16 Womens Age Groups Event. Louise and Hannah scored 27.95 for the 2nd highest score with their balance and 28.300 in Tempo for a total of 56.25 to finish 1st in Qualifications. They then hit 28.65 in the Finals to take the Gold medals home to South Tyneside.
They were joined on the Podium by the new Womens Pair from Harefield Abbi Ashby and Sophie Burfield who we first saw at the 2007 British Championships. Abbi and Sophie scored 27.55 in Balance and 27.70 in Tempo for a total of 55.250 to qualify in 4th place, and the girls went one better in the Finals winning bronze medals with a score of 28.050. Silver medals were awarded to Trees Geirnaert and Jade Vandevanne from the home Club Ambitious Pro Gymnastics who scored 28.350. These great photos feature the Age Groups Balance routines. Saltney Gym Club from Wales were also proudly represented in Flanders with fine performances from 3 Womens Pairs which gave the girls valuable International competitive experience against gymnasts from Belgium, Israel and England, and delighted proud parents and Coaches.
