GREAT BRITAIN WIN GOLD AND 2 SILVERS IN THE FLANDERS INTERNATIONAL ACRO WORLD CUP !
Over 500 athletes from 16 countries competed at the Flanders International Cup in Puurs, Belgium in the first competition under the new Code of Points, in an exciting event. Medallists from the World Championships with top teams from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus arrived in Puurs, Belgium to battle for Gold in a packed arena where the atmosphere was amazing from a knowledgeable and enthusiastic audience.
The British Team enjoyed great success. Amber Webster, Emma Storey and Natasha Johnston from Wakefield won gold in the SAWAGG Women’s Group Finals, with a score of 28.450. Helen Dean, Helen Dewell and Deobrah Van Zwanenberg from Deerness Valley won silver medals for GB scoring 28.300, just 0.15 points behind Wakefield making a superb double for the British Team. France were third with a score of 27.850
In the SAWAGG Women’s Pair Finals, Vicky Van Wallendael and Zoe Dillien from Art Gym in Belgium won Gold with 27.800, and Amy Crow and Sarah Cameron from Wakefield won Silver, again just 0.10 behind the gold medallists. France were third again.

SENIOR WOMEN’S GROUPS AND PAIRS FINALS
The Russian Women’s Group of Elena Moiseeva, Elena Kirilova and Tatiana Aleexeva led throughout the Finals with a fantastic performance, with great difficulty, style and elegance. The Silver medal went to Belarus, with Ukraine in bronze position, and only 0.09 separating the silver and bronze positions. Great Britain’s Melanie Cook, Kathryn Chandler and Hannah Goggin were in 5th position scoring 25.960.
In the Women’s Pairs Finals, the Bronze Medallists from the World Championships, Yuliya Kravchenko and Iryna Lobodzinska won Gold, after pre-competion favorites Natallia Kakhntuk and Khristsina Maraziuk made an error to finish in 4th place. The silver medals went to Poland, with Portugal’s Catia Messias and Ines Valada winning bronze. Full results were as follows:-
