PLUS RUSSIA’S GOLDEN PERFORMANCE IN MEN’S GROUPS

The National Anthem for Poland proudly rings out around the Arena as Jonas Al-Hadad and Kamil Fieniuk receive their Gold Medals after winning the 11-16 IAGC Men’s Pairs Title scoring 28.050. The Silver medals were won by Great Britain’s Stephen Raine and Dorian Walker with 27.80, just 0.25 behind the Gold Medalist’s! The bronze medals were won by Andrey Poteshkin and Yuriy Kopnin from Russia with 27.650. 

Congratulations to the new Men’s Pairs Champions in the 11-16 Age Group Jonas Al-Hadad and Kamil Fieniuk from Poland who also led after the Qualifications with a great all around performance.

Proud Silver Medalist’s from the Deerness Valley Club in Great Britain, Stephen Rainey and Dorian Walker in a very close Final with only 0.45 separating the top 3 Pairs! Stephen and Dorian were in 5th place in qualifications and claimed Silver in their final Combined routine with another excellent performance from the Great Britain pair.

Qualifying for Finals in second position the Russian pair of Andrey Poteshkin and Yuriy Kopnin had to settle for Bronze as their final routine was awarded 27.650, just 0.15 behind GB’s Stephen and Dorian.

Our favourite event in Sports Acrobatics is always seeing the breathtaking skills of the Men’s Groups as they perform incredible balances and dynamic routines with each gymnast requiring very high technical ability. Just look at these amazing photos to see what we mean!

The 11-16 Men’s Groups Final was as spectacular as ever with the Russian Group and Polish Team neck and neck and just one tenth of a point made the difference between winning the Gold and the Silver! Russia just edged the Final with a score of 27.90 and the 11-16 Men’s Group International Age Group Title was won by Victor Gorshkov, Valeriy Kruglov, Alexey Ivannikov and Oleg Krymov who had also led in the Qualifications.

The Silver Medals go to Poland after a thrilling final with Damian Szczepanski, Maciej Sternik, Maciej Miecznikowski and Michal Miecznikowski performing incredible routines during Qualifications and Finals and finish just one tenth behind the winners!

Bronze Medalist’s in the 11-16 Men’s Groups Finals, David Bango, Mark Zanocha, Krisztian Korosi and Attila Szamosi from Hungary who received 27.150 for their final routine.
