Russia roared ahead of the field to win the World Rhythmic Team Title in Baku tonight. They led the event by a huge margin throughout the competition with all of their gymnasts performing superbly, achieving a total of 166.025 with the highlights being their fabulous score of 50.000 in the Ribbon event, and 49.625 in the Ball competition! Ukraine took the World Silver Team medals after a great team performance had left them in second position throughout the qualifier’s scoring a total of 157.175, almost 10 full points clear of Bulgaria who won the bronze team medals. collecting an amazing 4 Silver medals on every piece in the Individual Finals
In the Individual Finals, Golden Girl Olga Kapranova won an amazing three individual World Titles in the Rope, Ball and Clubs Finals with Anna Bessonova from the Ukraine collecting 4 Silver medals in every apparatus Final! Vera Sessina from Russia completed the Russian domination of World Titles by winning the Ribbon Final. Irina Tchachina collected bronze in the Rope and Ribbon Finals with Inna Jukova from Belarus winning bronze in the Ball Final, and Natalia Godunko from Ukraine joined team mate Anna Bessonova on the rostrum when she won bronze in the Ribbon Finals. .
