US CLASSIC 2004 - NEW YORK - TIA ORLANDO WINS GOLD
ASHLEY WINS JUNIOR ALL AROUND TITLE
Some fantastic photos by Philip Morton of the US Classic in New York where some of America’s best Senior and Junior gymnasts competed for a place at Nationals and ultimately a place in Athens. Ashley Postell , Courtney Kupets, Nicole Harris, Tia Orlando, Hollie Vise and Tia Orlando were amongst the elite gymnasts competing for the US Classic. Ashley and Courtney competed on only bars and beam leaving the title wide open. Annie DiLuzio and Katie Lieberman won the Vault competition each scoring 9.325, and Hollie Vise performed brilliantly to win on beam with 9.65, and tie with Courtney Kupets on Bars for the gold medals, each girl scoring 9.6.
Tia Orlando from Parkettes had performed consistently throughout the competition, and on Floor she seized her opportunity to win Gold with a score of 9.575, and the individual all around US Classic Championship. Marcia Newby from Excalibur and Hollie Vise from WOGA were 2nd and 3rd.
In the Juniors, Ashley Priess from Cincinatti won the All Around US Classic Junior title, with Jana Bieger from American Twisters 2nd and Orlando Metro’s Shayla Worley winning bronze. Congratulations to all of the medallists
